as you may know, we have been working with the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) to obtain a permit to serve and sell tea in our new location since the beginning of the year. the good news is that our neighborhood advisory commission unanimously voted in our favor, and we now have a date for a hearing with the BZA in mid-september. the BZA will value the opinions of our tea house community and our neighbors.
if you would like to help, please send an email of support to the BZA in your own words or by using the letter at the link below. the email address for the BZA is bzasubmissions@dc.gov, and it is important that the subject line include the case number 21160.

our story
first opened in 1998 in georgetown, washington d.c. the idea of the tea house has been simple and clear from the beginning: to build a comfortable and quiet meeting place to share with the community. we are grateful ching ching CHA georgetown fulfilled this dream for 25 years and, now, our new home in dupont will continue the original idea to share with you.
we are a tea shop and a gallery with extensive collection of hand-picked yixing teapots, artisan pottery, handcrafted gift items from around asia, tea accessories, and little surprises. our teas are always well stocked.
*a note for our dear regulars: we will no longer be serving food, but we promise you will enjoy being in the new space. bright, pretty, and intimate; a lovely place to stop by for a cup of tea.
